I’m opening my address book to share my choices for fine dining in luxurious surroundings, in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. I don’t know if it’s Istanbul’s palette of colours that inspires me the most, or the secrets of its past, but its atmosphere is unique. The first bit of good news is that Istanbul is a wonderful place for food. The second is that the views are just wonderful. The city is packed with spots where you can indulge yourself over a cup of Turkish tea, looking out at the magic of the Bosphorus, or be transported to another era. Here are my favourites.

Vogue – a restaurant with one of the finest views in Istanbul!

If you’re looking for a very good restaurant with a panoramic view of the city, I recommend Vogue. For me, this restaurant, which is located on the roof of the Besiktas Plaza in the Akaretler district, has one of the most beautiful views in Istanbul.

After dark, the magical city sparkles. All these lights certainly make this one of the most charming restaurants in the city.

Lacivert – an incredible Eden tucked away on the east bank of the Bosphorus
